Does exposure to chemical weapons explain the Gulf War syndrome?
Article Abstract:
Disagreement exists on whether the Gulf War syndrome shown by veterans can be explained as due to chemical weapons exposure. One theory holds that air strikes on two Iraqi chemical weapons storage sites caused pollution which reached allied troops. However, the closest troops are considered as too far away to have been contaminated. Other troops reported encounters with chemical land mines confirmed to have had sarin and mustard gas.

Does scientific evidence support the tightening of air quality standards?
Article Abstract:
Disagreement exists whether scientific evidence indicates that air quality standards should be improved for ozone and particulates. Critics claim that an increase in ozone standards from 120 to 90 parts per billion will result in negligible improvements, and that more severe drops in ozone may be needed to show health gains. Critics also claim that inadequate knowledge exists about particulates to adopt a 2.5 micrometer standard.
