West Australian Labor Party leader Geoff Gallop met with British prime minister Tony Blair and returned to Australia with a more assertive political strategy. He hopes to stop logging in his state's old growth forests, and reform candidate selection procedures. West Australia is a conservative state, and not many voters are expected to support such a radical platform.
