An Executive Director of National Governors Association and Attorney General of Mississippi are debating over the issue whether the states are doing their part to fight tobacco use. The director shares his views in support of the state while the attorney general puts forth his views against the states efforts to fight tobacco use.

Many states in the US have agreed to fund instate embryonic stem cell (ESC) research on their own. States with strong traditions in academic medicine or with biotech sectors are more likely to benefit economically by encouraging the development of stem cell research.
