Many global mergers occurring in Europe and the US have direct impact on Australia. The merger of the German Deutsche Bank and the American Bankers Trust will impact Australian economy and consumers because both corporations are active in Australia. Consequently, it will result in job losses and changes in local financial service sector. The potential merger between Exxon and Mobil will also impact Australia. Upon its competition, it will constitute the largest industrial merger in history.
