Globe names Phillip Crawley new president, COO
Article Abstract:
Thomson Corp. of Canada has assigned The New Zealand managing director Phillip Crawley as the new president and chief operating officer of its newspaper dubbed The Globe and Mail. Crawley used to work for Wilson and Horton Ltd. of New Zealand which owns The New Zealand publication. Crawley joined The Globe and Mail due to the Canadian journalistic environment, indicated Globe and Mail chief executive officer and publisher Roger Parkinson. Crawley indicated that he will handle the daily business operations of The Globe with majority of department heads under his jurisdiction.

Ex-president sues Anderson Exploration
Article Abstract:
Natural gas producer Anderson Exploration Ltd of Calgary, Alberta has been sued by its former president Larry Macdonald for C$4.5 million for alleged wrongful dismissal. Mcdonald said that he was fired at the end of Mar 1999 without any advance notice and without any reasons given to him. He added that Anderson has failed to supply him with a reference. Mcdonald has recently been named as chairman of Slade Energy Inc of Calgary, Alberta.
