Hollywood and the gangster
Article Abstract:
Hollywood produced memorable gangster movies in the 1930s with stars such as James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Clark Gable and Jean Harlow. Movie producers maintained that their movies preached about the evil consequences of crime, but critics claimed that these movies tended to glorify gangsters. Films of the gangster genre have won several Academy Award nominations. Some of the more recent films which have won nominations are 'Prizzi's Honor,' "The Godfather - Part III,' 'Goodfellas' and 'Bugsy.'

Sizing up the heavyweights
Article Abstract:
New research into the mechanisms on which the fusion and fission of massive nuclei are based has produced valuable information about the processes that prompt the formation of superheavy elements. It was possible to identify the contribution of quasi-fission to three fusion reactions by comparing the mass distributions of fission fragments for each reaction.
