Cell phone chip works in all corners of the world

Motorola Inc has developed a chip that allows a single cellular phone to work anywhere on the globe at different cellular standards. The chip called DSP56690 baseband processor also handles data transmission faster than current cell phone chips, allowing for easier Internet browsing and dowloading using cellular connections. Motorola said that it plans to sell the chips to all cellular-phone makers including its competitor to boost the market for multimode phones.

Oil of Olay's line of cosmetics hits shelves

Procter and Gamble Co has launched a $90-million campaign for the nationwide launch of its Oil of Olay's line of cosmetics. The product introduction has transformed Oil of Olay from a mass-market brand of moisturizer into a brand of color cosmetics. Procter and Gamble said that the cosmetics line will be sold at pharmacies, groceries and discount stores as 10%-20% premium over other mass-market cosmetic products.
