Hotels to crowd Alberta resort
Article Abstract:
The Canadian federal government has already given its confidential approval to a proposal that calls for a 28% increase in the hotel space at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. Secret memorandums indicate that the federal government has authorized the construction of a 13,805-sq-m convention center at the Chateau Lake Louise. Critics have stated that the approval of the convention center is an indication that there will be a construction boom in the area. Secretary of State for Parks Andy Mitchell responded to the reports by saying that he has stopped some of the hotel development efforts and that he has decreased the number of overnight tourists for the area to slightly over 3,000.
