Lawsuit against Sun Life intensifies, gets personal
Article Abstract:
Sun Life Assurance Co of Canada CEO Donald Stewart has been sued by Toronto lawyer and landlord Joel Vale in another development of the continuing legal battle between the two parties. Vale's latest move sues Stewart in his personal capacity and not as a Sun Life employee. The suit claims that Stewart knew and allowed Sun Life's former actuary Robert Sharkey to submit evidence in court that was later proved to be fraudulent. The legal tussle stems from the refusal of Sun Life to allow Vale to prepay mortgages on three Toronto properties.

A lawsuit against Sun Life Assurance Co of Canada CEO Donald Stewart was withdrawn by Joel Vale, a Toronto, Canada, lawyer and landlord.
