Mikhail Baryshnikov is turning 50 but he is still a ballet dancer with elegance and intensity. He is preparing for some solo performances in New York City, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. He also performed at his hometown of Riga where he grew up. He was admitted to School of Theater after his mother's death, and ever since he's been ballet dancing and now he is recognized for his flawless executions and style.

Battle over the Holocaust

Daniel Goldhagen's Harvard dissertation that became the popular 'Hitler's Willing Executioners' has been attacked for claiming the Holocaust stemmed from anti-Semitic sentiment of ordinary Germans, not from Nazi solders. The 600 page text is criticized by Norman Finkelstein and Ruth Bettina Birn who will publish their rebuttal in 'A Nation on Trial' in March 1998.
