Downloading files from the Internet is common, but often still slow, possibly because a large file is being downloaded over a slow connection, or because a HyperText Transfer Protocol is being used, which was designed for web page transfer, but is much slower at moving files. The answer to more efficient file downloading is the use of File Transfer Protocol.
