New TV ratings devices know what you're watching
Article Abstract:
BBM Canada is using the Personal Portable Meter (PPM) to compile its television ratings in Montreal and Quebec City. The new system, in which ratings are compiled through small devices that listen for audio queues in broadcasts, enables BBM to measure television viewing outside the home and reduces human error.
