Opening skies: the deal is done - but will Canadian survive?

Prime Minister Jean Chretien invoked an infrequently used clause of the Canada Labour Code to break a stalemate in negotiations between Canadian Airlines and the Canadian Auto Workers union. But the move does not guarantee Canadian will survive its battle for survival against Air Canada.

A furor over lost figurines

Passport to trouble: Ottawa is outraged after Israeli agents pose as Canadian tourists

Canadian officials expressed outrage over a recent Israeli assassination attempt against Hamas leader Khaled Meshal in which the alleged assassins posed as Canadian tourists to enter Jordan. Meshal survived the attack. The incident has strained relations between Israel and Canada.
