Ottawa to amend magazine bill
Article Abstract:
The Canadian federal government will amend a controversial magazine legislation called Bill C-55 to avert a trade war with the US. The amendment will allow Bill C-55 to take effect only when the federal government decides it is needed. The legislation virtually bans split-run editions of foreign magazines, or Canadian editions of foreign periodicals that contain little Canadian content.
