Outlook: Crisis ahead?
Article Abstract:
President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Shirley Ann Jackson revealed that US's failure to meet its need for technically skilled workers could lead to crisis that could put in danger the nation's important status in the world. The American Council on Education reports that US cannot rely heavily on foreign students who assumed faculty or research careers, considering the immigration restrictions imposed after September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers.

More women's scientists
Article Abstract:
Women's participation in sciences has increased from the year 1960 to 2000. According to Government Accountability Office (GAO), by the year 2003, women composed 20% of scientists, 14% of engineers, and one third of mathematicians as compared to the year 1960,when women composed 3% of scientists, 1% of engineers, and 26% of mathematicians.
