Poorer but fairer
Article Abstract:
A new survey suggest that Australian retirees are among the poorest in the industrialized world. Retired persons in Germany, Britain, and France enjoy as much as 83% to 103% of average non-retiree incomes compared with Australia's 68%. However, Australian retirees experience more equal income distribution than those countries. furthermore, even the poorest retirees in Australia benefit from high home-ownership, which is better than Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada.
