PM Jean Chretien is asking Canadian corporations to finance the Group of 7 industrial nations summit in Halifax on Jun 15-17, 1995. Executives Purdy Crawford and Ivan Duvar have been chosen to solicit the $7 million that the G-7 wants. In return, companies can use their logos in summit events.

The sharp decline in the value of the Mexican peso and its concomitant economic dislocations have brought harm to many Canadian businesses with interests in Mexico. John Labatt Ltd, the Bank of Nova Scotia, and Reichmann International LP are among the firms that have lost money in Mexico.
