Article Abstract:
The suspected case of Australian native animals being infected by "Leishmania", a feared parasite spread by blood sucking sandflies and responsible for millions of cases of human disease, is investigated by infectious disease and wildlife agencies. It is discovered that four red kangaroos held as exhibits at the Territory Wildlife Park at Berry Springs, South of Darwin, had a mystery skin disease affecting their tails.
