Santa's helpers
Article Abstract:
The late 1990s version of Santa Clause in Australia and other developed countries is one that goes to Santa school, has had his police record checked, always has to keep his hands on view, and is coached to answer tricky questions. Department store Santas are supplied by Westaff, which has 150 on its records. In 1997, Myer dropped its male-only policy because of a legal challenge, arguing Santa should not be controversial.
