Shoppers Drug Mart Ltd of Toronto, Canada, which is focusing on higher- margin categories such as herbal remedies, health and beauty aids, cosmetics, over-the-counter medicine, vitamins and prescriptions, is poised to generate a hot bidding war after the company was put on sale by parent Imasco Ltd of Montreal, Canada. The move was prompted by British American Tobacco PLC's acquisition of 58% of Imasco that it does not yet own.
