Article Abstract:
Some feel that Britain should not be governed by royal prerogative and that its monarchy should be abolished to give more power to the people. The monarchy is politically weak and the royal family's scandalous marital behavior serves as material for tabloids. Others feel that the monarchy is not perfect, but it has encouraged a separation of powers and prevented a dictatorship from ruling Britain.
