Surprise: Chrysler loves its German boss
Article Abstract:
Chrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche is emerging as a hero in Detroit, MI, having been transformed from a loathed interloper to a beloved insider. Despite some bumpy patches, he has scored points by being devoted, tactful, avoiding executive airs, being responsive and not aloof, and schmoozingwith reporters. More than any car boss in Chrysler's memory, he keeps his ego pocketed. Chrysler people find that refreshing after years of bigger-than-life domineering executives such as Lee Iacocca and Robert Lutz.
