Article Abstract:
Kinsella, best known for his 1982 novel Shoeless Joe, has come out with a new book about baseball, 'The Dixon Cornbelt League.' Kinsella grew up on a farm in Alberta and wrote his first baseball story in the eighth grade. He has also written six books of short stories about native Indians.

A forest fable

Environmentalists are trying to block the 1993 decision by British Columbia officials that would allow logging in a large tract of the old-growth forests in the Clayoquot Sound region of Vancouver Island. Canada is worried about earning an anti-environmental image.
