Test of strength
Article Abstract:
The student-led protests in Indonesia for democracy and reform continue despite the police assaults. These pro-democracy protesters demand an end to military's participation in the nation's politics, but that did not happen as the Special Assembly reached an agreement on reforms requested by a group of four senior opposition figures. Although there were shootings between protestors and police, most of the riots caused damages to office buildings and shopping malls.

The violence has spread to the capital, Jakarta, where 5000 Muslims at the Al Azhar mosque called for a holy war.
