The 100-year debate on linking Prince Edward island with New Brunswick and mainland Canada has ended with the opening of the $1 billion, 13-km-long Confederation Bridge. Several residents comment on the economic impacts of the bridge. The province already hosted 770,000 tourists annually.

Pipe dream: government bickering threatens to scuttle a long-awaited project
Article Abstract:
Eastern Nova Scotia is in an economic decline, but the development of the gas reserves on its nearby Sable Island would breathe new life into its economy. The squabbling between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on pipeline tolls, and other political machinations, may sabotage the project.
