John Remfry, the chief executive of Australian oil float Essential Petroleum Resources, believes that the Australian oil industry is suffering because there has been no significant oil discovery in that area for more than 10 years. Essential is trying to break away from risk-aversion with a new geological model for exploring oil in the Otway Basin between South Australia and Victoria.
