The city of despair
Article Abstract:
Iraqi people are suffering from seven years of economic embargo. Iraqi hospitals lack simple medical supplies and sick children die every day. Schools cannot get pencils, chairs, or books. Children beg on the streets for handouts. Iraqi people blame the UN and the US for their suffering, not Saddam Hussein. Although the Security Council accepted a deal allowing Iraq to sell more oil for food, it is not going to be nearly enough.

Ventura, 40, ran on a platform of lower taxes, less government and belief that the $4 billion state surplus should be returned to the voters.

Will Saddam blink?
Article Abstract:
Polls indicate that the US public is uncertain about dealing with the Iraqi crisis, with 18% favoring limited air strikes and 36% supporting an all-out military attack. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's meeting with Saddam offers some chance for a peaceful solution. The military realities make the situation a difficult one for Clinton administration foreign policy leaders.
