The future has landed
Article Abstract:
This article describes Waterside, the innovative headquarters building that British Airways opened near Heathrow Airport in Britain in 1998, which functions as an electronic village designed to eliminate management hierarchies, foster decision-making, encourage networking, and increase efficiency. Electronic aids supply employees with 40 new ways of working, in the hope that this will cut operating costs. Relevant points include the conclusion of most of the firm's employees that the radical new workplace design of Norwegian Niels Torp has yet to reach its full potential.
