The 24-year-old Olerud has a .400 batting average and is considered one of the best hitters in the American League. Olerud grew up in Bellevue, WA, and attended Washington State University. He overcame a brain aneurysm at the age of 20 and is now happily married and lives in Toronto.

The Devils' due

The Devils won the 1995 Stanley Cup championship with a surprising four-game sweep over the favored Detroit Red Wings. The Devils do not have many well known stars but play a stingy team defense. There have been rumors that the Devils may move to Nashville, TN, by next season.
