The transtheoretical model of behavior change and smokers in Southern Appalachia

Article Abstract:

The applicability of the transtheoretical model for southern Appalachia smokers is examined to identify the percentage of individuals in each of the five stages of changes. The results of the study indicated that smokers of Appalachia Tennessee differ from the other parts of United States in the percentage of individuals in the five stages of change, and the findings raised questions about the applicability of the transtheoretical model for this population.
