Ira Magaziner, an adviser to the US government on Internet policy, feels the growth of the Internet is as important as the changes caused by the industrial revolution in the 18th century. The industrial revolution automated the production of goods, but the Internet revolution can automate overheads, such as inventory management, logistics mangement and supply chain management.
