Disney has eyes for Hong Kong
Article Abstract:
Walt Disney Co Disneyland will put up a theme park in Hongkong. According to Hongkong's Chinese-language newspapers, the government will shoulder much of the cost in exchange for more than 50% stake in the project. The theme park is expected to be built starting spring 2000 through 2005 on Lantau Island, which is around 9 miles from the central business district. The agreement was reached after months of negotiations.
