The company, which was formed by founders Jason Smith, Scott Brownlee and Doug Birnie, in 1995 now employs 60 people. It posted a revenue of C$2.5 million in 1997, sharply up from $80,000 in 1995. Among its clients are BC Telecom, Westcoast Energy Inc, Manitoba Telecom Services Inc, Wendy's International Inc, General Motors of Canada Ltd and Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment Inc.

Canadian Tire seen unveiling major expansion

Auto parts retail chain Canadian Tire Corporation Ltd of Toronto, Ontario, has announced a major expansion program that is expected to create 3,000- 4,000 jobs and restructure the C$15-billion Canadian automotive aftermarket. The company will launch its Auto PartSource chain which will cater to heavy do-it-yourselfers and professioanl installers. Canadian Tire's move is seen as a preemptive strike against US aftermarket giant AutoZone Inc's plan to expand in Canada.
