What everybody should know about menopause
Article Abstract:
Women usually begin menopause in their 40s, as their ovaries begin to produce less estrogen. Periods completely stop sometime between the ages 45 and 55, at which time women may consider hormone replacement therapy to reduce the risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers. However, hormone replacement has possible risks and many women prefer a more natural approach to disease prevention that includes eating natural foods and getting plenty of exercise. Men may also go through a form of menopause as their concentration of free testosterone drops between the ages of 40 and 65.
