White Rose having trouble blooming again
Article Abstract:
White Rose Crafts & Nursery Sales Ltd. of Unionville, Ontario, will post an operating deficit of about C$5.7 million for its fiscal 1998 that ended Aug. 2, 1998. The 62-store company, which has been expected to recover under its chairman and president, Dean Groussman, will post its third consecutive year of losses despite a 2.5% increase in sales to C$210 million for fiscal 1998. White Rose, whose stock has declined to C$0.45 on Nov. 13, 1998, representing a large drop from C$11 per share in 1993, is blaming intense rivalry in the industry for its poor performance.
