White elephant: the airport of the future suffers a new setback
Article Abstract:
Underused Mirabel Airport will lose of of its passenger travel after Sep 15, 1997 and only service cargo planes. The impact on nearby areas includes the loss of 1,000 jobs. Factors which doomed it include a $55 tab to drive to Montreal, while Dorsal Airport is only a 20-minute ride from the city.

Brighter days in Montreal?
Article Abstract:
Montreal has lost 506 corporate headquarters to Toronto, Ontario, since 1977, but that trend now appears to be reversing. Many high-tech firms are relocating to Montreal because of favorable tax incentives, a well-educated workforce and the city's reputation for a good quality-of-life.
