An economic catastrophe is on the horizon if the US does not take careful measures to offset the soon-to-reach-retirement-age of the huge Baby Boomer generation. Estimates show that nearly 25% of the population will be over the age of 65 by the year 2040, a heavy toll on social security benefits.

Female circumcision comes to America

Female circumcision is increasing in the US and other Western countries as more immigrants enter from Africa. Some countries outlaw the practice, but Congress has not yet acted on the issue. Women's rights groups and activists such Mimi Ramsey are working to stop female genital mutilation.
