Will improved certification make ecotourism more marketable?
Article Abstract:
Martha Honey, executive director of The International Ecotourism Society points out that 'green certification' by responsible authority that marks the environmental and social influences will boost ecotourism but feels that it would take some time to educate consumers. Ron Mader, the founder of Planeta.com, however argues that the ecotourism certification would not make ecotourism more marketable and suggests that attempts at improving the dialogue among operators and national tourism campaigns would be a better option.

Patent disputes: 'The knowledge economy'
Article Abstract:
The technicalities of the U.S. patent system are complex, and with a huge backlog of pending applications, time pressures militate against improvements in patent quality. The Patent and Trade Mark Office (PTO) director Jon W. Dudas has stressed the importance of patent rights as it represents the future of the U.S. economy, since most of the jobs depend on some form of intellectual property, and intellectual property is the way to protect the knowledge economy.
