Ancillary services; the forgotten issue

Article Abstract:

Market-based transmission and generation services should be provided by electric utilities for them to be reliable and get into smooth business transactions. Their ancillary services should not be regulated by the government but should be adoptable to market changes. Utilities required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to provide ancillary services should support a competitive market. The ancillary services are indespensable sectors of the industry that clearcut regulations and policies should be created for the industry to better serve the consuming public.
