The path to reform
Article Abstract:
The inefficiency of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in addressing regulatory and safety issues has undermined the growth of the US nuclear sector. NRC has particularly been futile in adapting with integrated and systematic changes. The agency has further adopted petty measures in enhancing the safety reliability and economic performance of companies, creating a lack of prioritization in licensing applications and corporate license transfers. Processing delays have likewise created a bureaucratic atmosphere within the agency.
