Article Abstract:
The geographer William Morris Davis has left a lasting impression on the study of geomorphology with his theory of landscape formation through a cycle of erosion. Davis was criticised by geomorphologists such as Walther Penck and L.C. King who thought Davis' theory was applicable only to the temperate and humid environments. Recent studies have proven Davis right in that they all search for an underlying pattern irrespective of whether they are micro or macro level studies.

Article Abstract:
Charles Robert Darwin's detailed observations of interrelationships in a given environment serve as a model for geographical researchers for seeing connections between elements of a system and between two systems. Darwin's approach of looking for links allows for a dynamic study of man and his environment. This approach does not impose artificial boundaries between groups and allows unrestricted exploration.
