Resource quality information and validity of willingness to pay in contingent valuation
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the role of resource quality information in measuring willingness to pay through contingent valuation reveals that information about resource quality presented in contingent markets will result in more valid valuations of changes in allocations of environmental resources. Differences in perceived quality and true quality are found to be available to respondents from information in the contingent market.

Issues in improvement of the valuation of non-market goods
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the issues involved in valuating non-market goods such as environmental goods and services for natural resources reveals that approaches vary but are generally classified as either anecdotal or econometric. There are varying views and about the two methods, including an eclectic approach, but interview techniques are assumed to be robust and susceptible to improvements and are thus explored.

Embedding and calibration in measuring non-use values
Article Abstract:
An analysis of embedding and calibration in measuring non-use values reveals that follow-up questions enable a researcher to determine whether individuals value commodities differently. The study shows that embedding may be dependent on the nature of the commodity itself and that the embedding problem solution that states that increasing market context to solve the problem may be invalid.
