Dizocilpine (MK801): use or abuse?
Article Abstract:
Medical studies show that the co-administration of dizocilpine with opiates and psychostimulants such as cocaine, amphetamine and nicotine, impedes the development of tolerance, dependence and sensitization to these drugs, as well as neuroadaptations in rodents. Thus, dizocilpine has great potentials of becoming useful for the treatment of drug addiction. When it was mixed with bromocriptine however, it was observed that it enhanced the development of behavioral sensitization.

In vivo studies with antisense oligonucleotides
Article Abstract:
First-generation antisense oligonucleotides have been tested as therapeutic agents among human beings. Antisense therapeutics is an exciting new technology for manipulating gene expression in the treatment of human viral diseases such as AIDS, inflammatory disorders and cancers. The ideal and efficient oligonucleotide delivery strategy will help improve efficacy, lessen side-effects and reduce drug costs.
