Beyond managerialism: after the death of the corporate statesperson
Article Abstract:
A macro perspective of what role business or corporations should play in a free society or in the world is suggested. This perspective, which is based on a theory of political economy, argues that the Managerial perspective or the 'Micro' focus on the company is false and has its weaknesses. The three components of business ideology, namely, the theses of Managerial Revolution, Managerial Discretion and Managerial Professionalism, or the Social Responsibility thesis, are discussed.

Four well-known models of corporate culpability and their limitations with regard to current federal and state corporate criminal law are reviewed. Article Abstract:
Corporate political activity is shifting from the federal level of government in the late 1960s to state and local levels in the 1990s.
