Catholic social teaching in an era of economic globalization: a resource for business ethics
Article Abstract:
The history of the Catholic work ethic and the traditions of Catholic social teaching on the current economic globalization era are presented from the viewpoints of economic and social analysts Robert B. Reich and Peter F. Drucker. It is observed that structural changes which took place during the development of the modern economic age dramatically changed the Catholic work ethic and the Church's social teaching practices. Furthermore, corporate downsizing is seen as a challenge for Catholic social teaching in today's economic globalization age.

Roman Catholic tradition and ritual and business ethics: a feminist perspective
Article Abstract:
The Roman Catholic tradition is observed to manifest gender bias in its social teachings and Eucharistic practice to the disadvantage of women workers. The church's eucharistic ideals, which are supposed to symbolize equality among church members regardless of race, class and sex, are often bypassed and taken for granted due to social prejudice and various forms of social exclusion. Nevertheless, it is argued that diligent study of the Catholic church's teachings and practice could help support the equal human dignity of women workers.

A global ethic in an age of globalization
Article Abstract:
Ethics has an essential and significant role to play in the process of economic globalization. However, a global ethic alone cannot provide the foundation for basic ethical values and attitudes. This function can only be performed with the help of the world's religions. The need for a personality culture for executives and an ethic responsibility for shaping business culture and organizations is discussed.
