Clever, wise or both?
Article Abstract:
Jim Grote's and John McGeeney's book 'Clever as Serpents: Business Ethics and Office Politics' deals with the problem of office politics. The subject has been deplored by both classic management theorists and business ethicists who do not appreciate the implications of petty posturing, clashing ambitions, lingering feuds and flaring jealousies. However, Grote and McGeeney approach the topic with much zeal, inciting their readers to cope with the pressures and temptations that go with it.
