Informed consent as an ethical principle for business
Article Abstract:
The concept of informed consent as an ethical principle of business is proposed. Although informed consent is already an inherent characteristic of stakeholder theory, its presence in stakeholder framework has been ignored. The proposal centers on the duties owed to customers and community members at large and provides cases regarding sales practices. Some applications of the informed consent addition to stakeholder theory as well as prospects for implementation are discussed.
