Morals and markets: the case of ethical investing
Article Abstract:
An empirical psychological study of the relationship between ethical and financial beliefs and desires of ethical investors is presented. A qualitative data analysis software was used to analyze ten of semi-structured interviews conducted on 20 ethical investors. While all the investors had ethical concerns, they are not prepared to sacrifice their essential financial requirements to deal with these concerns. The four common ways of addressing this problem are discussed.

Obedience to authority and ethical dilemmas in Hong Kong companies
Article Abstract:
A phenomenological sub-study of the way Hong Kong Chinese employees dealt with their own ethical dilemmas within their company is presented. A special analysis was undertaken on eight dilemma cases resulting from a request by a superior authority to do something considered as unethical. Results suggest that if corruption were committed at the top, codes of conduct introduced into Hong Kong would be ineffective, thus posing a threat to business ethics in the country.
