British territories such as St. Helena, Montserrat, and the Falkland Islands are seeking greater protection from the UK. Hong Kong was ceded to China in 1997, and nations such as Scotland and Wales are voting to establish independent governing bodies, but most of the 13 remaining British territories are content to remain as they are.
