Empathy training for hospital staff nurses
Article Abstract:
An empathy training program for hospital nurses was designed and its effectiveness was evaluated. The subjects were 36 nurses in a large medical center in New York. The training program consisted of six one-hour classes. The goals of the program included improving the quality of nurses' interactions with patients and training nurses to respond empathetically without significantly increasing the time spent with patients. The results suggested that the training program improved the nurses' empathy, but not by a significant amount.

Lunar phases and psychiatric hospital admissions
Article Abstract:
A recent study suggests there is no correlation between the occurrence of the full moon and anti-social emergency admission rates at psychiatric hospitals. An analysis of previous methodology indicated other stressors and environmental factors had a greater influence on hospital admission rates than the lunar cycle of the moon.
